Warp, a demo

This is a project I started quite a while ago and didn’t continue not long after. However the gameplay is far along and kinda neat.

Basically, I wanted to make a platformer in which the player could teleport.

The game however, has another special feature: You can create your own levels, upload them, and play levels made by others. You can also see how many times your level was played, and how many times people died, or succeeded. A voting system was being worked on.

I’m interested in hearing what you think about the game, and also very curious about what kind of levels people will make (because, I can actually check them online!).

I may continue work on the game in the near future, depending on the responses as well.

Download here.

I hope you like it. :)

    That’s awesome! Finish it!
    The idea is outstanding!
I, too, always wondered how can a teleporting power be implemented in a platform game… in a way like the dimension shift in Dim.

Add a random level generator too at the end, it will make it really replay-able :)
I’ve never seen a RLG working in a platformer, I think I’ll try to make one in one of my next projects (some day)…

    @Bowser
Then you’ll be happy to know that my game basically is a RLG.

Hey, can you delete Level 55?
I clicked the Publish button again by accident…

I played this the other day and never got the chance to comment back. The gameplay’s pretty good for being such an early exploration, and I’ve gotta say the online level editor really makes the game – I’d love it if I knew how to set something like that up at this moment, haha, all in good time…

But yeah, I’d say you should the game further, make it look nicer and add some extra game elements (blocks that prevent warps?) to take the good idea as far as you can :)

If this is an ‘early’ build then I can’t wait to see the finished article. Its quite an original game and is certainly better than most currently on YYG. Keep up the good work!

This is pretty cool, but I think the character doesn’t fit that well. Great concept though.

Hey Jesse, you do not know me. I am a great fan of your work. This is unrelated to the subject you are presently speaking of. I was wondering about karoshi suicide 2, the secret level. Is there an ending or no? Please keep in touch, thanks.

It’s an excellent idea! The gameplay is surprisingly fun, and not as easy as I thought it would be!
